| Snaggle Tooth Squeezer
The correct scientific name for this creature is Snaggle Tooth Squeezer, (squeezerensis horribillis), but everyone in Chaladon simply calls them Squeezers. They are terribly wicked animals, worse than anyones most terrifying nightmare. They fear neither animal nor man and seem to go out of their way in search of small, juicy children. Their roar alone will frighten ones dinner straight into ones underpants. Squeezers prefer to hide in trees where they can jump down on their unsuspecting victem and sieze him with the powerful muscle flaps that extend from ankles to the wrists of his powerful arms. Then they squeeze until every bone is crushed and the victem's eyeballs pop out. Finally, they tear off hugh bites with their horrible teeth and eat the lifeless corpse down to the last crushed morsel of bone. They are found mostly in heavily forested areas without small trees or bushes that can entangle the skin flaps. Being clumsy runners, they are rarely seen in open fields where their victems would run away. Fortunately, in modern times most Squeezers live in forested valleys and sensible people stay away from such places.
Sometimes, however, it is necessary to cross such valleys. Chaladonians have created a network of trails that lead a person from one side to the other, and at both ends they pick a suitable tree where they hang "squeezer cages" from ropes. Before entering the dangerous valley, the traveler puts on a squeezer cage to protect himself. The simple cages are made from bent sticks, but the key is the many sharp stcks sticking out like a porcupine. A Squeezer can't grip the cage without hurting his skin flaps. Travelers are warned not to fall down because then the Squeezer could eat his feet.
